FOREST DENSITY EXAMPLES

Especially notice the distinct foreground, middle ground, and background elements. One single tree just cloned a ton of times wont create convincing depth.
Foreground elements are defined with exacting branches and unique shapes.
Middle ground elements are more cluttered, and largely serve to define an interesting horizon line shape. Note how large objects like hills, rocks, or knocked over tree trunks can serve to fill in the middle ground, and create more variety rather than just shrubs.
Background elements are desaturated, blurred, and can then be mostly kind of randomized clones, or just a matte painting.
On this one they're using a much more simplified style, but notice how the foreground elements are still the most detailed, while the middle ground actually becomes just a flat 1-color cutout matte painting, and the background is the mountain more desaturated and light due to atmospheric perspective.

KAAN'S NOTES
OPENING
-------
- push balloons closer to the stand
- swing camera around on an angle a little bit
- less space between first two dialogue lines
- trim down all sequences
- don't have the pull out wide shot match the other wide shot
- more shots at an angle
- don't show "Eight Balloons" right next to the actual balloons, give it mystery
- simplify the kiosk, like the small round sort of kiosks with the little roofs, add a flag
- you reveal the balloons by rotating around the rounded kiosk
- maybe add candy, balls, sunglasses, postcards, along with the toys as well
- the structure can be simpler, but the inside is rich and full of detail.. sort of like a figure drawing where the detail is in certain facial expressions that then bleeds out to looser sketches of shoulders, etc
SUN
-------
- don't show the sun until it says "sun" at the end
- sun/balloon POV shots trimmed down or out significantly
HIGHWAY
-------
- side shot is too long
- so are others (see Kaan's edit)
CACTUS
-------
- lose the first dropping down shot
BACON
-------
- trim wide drifting shot
PORCUPINE
-------
- speed up flirt scene
- cut the face to face scene
CROCODILE
-------
- show crocodile eye opening first
- trim up scenes
EDING
-------
- longer fade down
- slower pull out
OTHER NOTES
-------
- have a female read the poem to test it out
- maybe no particles when it pops
- music can be more playful, doesn't have to be sad
- uplifting happy music
- try both ways though
- try a version with just subtitles and no voices at all
- characters more inspired by michael lau
